Blog #3 – Rethinking Copy Right

I guess I don’t see the huge issue associated with copy right.  I do believe stealing is wrong and sampling another artist work without their consent or without properly paying them is stealing.  Sampling and remixing music is a beautiful art form that requires just as much work as composing a new original piece.  I think it’s awesome and insightful to hear a song you like be remixed and redone by another artist who puts a new spin on the track.  Vis-a verse-a when I find out a new song is sampled from an older song, I am that person who will go find the original song to see where the inspiration came from.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. . .I don’t even believe that “Youth Group” is the original artist of this song but I still love it.
And now cue the remix by Jay-Z.  I prefer the other version of the song but I think “Young Forever” is a pretty decent modern take on the song

  1. The remix is really awesome actually! I haven't heard it before, I kind of like it more than the youth group version, just cause it switches it up a bit, nice find. I think youth group. I just found the orgiginal artist thought. It's kind of a trip of a video! XD enjoy..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwxOlRNwfZs
